Boone Center, Inc. (BCI), a nonprofit dedicated to empowering adults with developmental disabilities through employment, has elected Hannah Grewach and Katrina Coffman to its board of directors. Board members may serve up to two consecutive three-year terms.
Coffman is Executive Director of LinkAbility, Inc. in Hollister and will represent BCI’s subsidiary, Imagine Technical Institute, in southwest Missouri. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education, two master’s degrees in counseling and nonprofit management, and a doctorate in public administration.
Coffman began her career as a schoolteacher before becoming a special education school counselor and then a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the state of Texas. Prior to leading LinkAbility, she spent 16 years with Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas, where she advanced to CEO. A CARF surveyor with deep expertise in placing people with disabilities into competitive employment, Coffman looks forward to sharing her knowledge and supporting BCI’s vital work.
Grewach is the director of HR operations at BJC Health System in St. Louis and brings more than 15 years of experience in the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s in business administration. In her current role, she oversees five HR departments, which encompass 75 team members. Grewach recently accepted a new role leading business transformation and technology implementation at BJC.
In addition to her HR expertise, Grewach has served on the boards and committees of the Boys & Girls Club of St. Charles County, BJC St. Charles County Foundation, Sacred Heart Troy Sports Association, and BCI’s Derby After Dark planning and host committees. Born and raised in Lincoln County, and now a resident of St. Charles County, she is a longtime advocate for people with developmental and physical disabilities—a passion fueled by her cousin’s life-changing experience with meaningful work.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Hannah and Katrina,” said BCI CEO Troy Compardo. “Our board is made up of professionals who help BCI break down barriers so individuals with disabilities can reach their full potential. Hannah’s HR leadership strengthens our commitment to inclusive hiring and training, and Katrina’s expertise in supported employment will help expand our impact throughout Missouri. Together, their passion and experience will help drive our mission forward.”
In addition to electing Grewach and Coffman, the board named new officers, including Kevin Thomson as president and Kelly Cope as second vice president. Tim Wells and George Schoedinger will serve as past president and first vice president, respectively. Howard Kaplan and Jayuni Buescher will continue in their roles as secretary and treasurer.
The new directors succeed Ghan Mehta and Ron Kloppenburg, whose terms concluded June 30.
